Floorstander speaker plinths
Discussion
We've had a few near misses when the dogs have nearly knocked over one of the rear surround speakers. They are quite large bookshelf speakers mounted (with blu tac) on Atacama stands. They are stable, the blu tack is like Gripfill and quite heavy, but would be no match for an excitable large dog, so live in fear of it getting damaged.
Mrs autopilot had the pleasure of lugging my front floorstanders to the loft room once while she did some decorating so knows how damn heavy they are. She suggested I buy some more floor standers for the rear speakers 'as they are so much more stable', so before she could finish her sentence or change her mind I bought some online a bit quick
These speakers have spikes which are fine, but I'd like to increase the footprint a bit and put them on plinths. I've found one or two on US sites which cost an absolute fortune.
Can you get a speaker plinth that screws in to the bottom of the speaker (where the spikes screw in to) that then has a wide base?
Thanks
