Looking for some help on a problem that is driving me mad.
We have an internal aerial, which feeds into a booster box, which has two outputs, one for our main tv downstairs, the other, for our bedroom tv.
I just swapped a 23" Blaupunkt tv at Richer sounds for a bigger Panasonic, as the Blaupunkt was faulty, or so i thought. Basically the issue was with a few different channels, mainly bbc and itv derivatives.
The picture would become heavily pixilated, scattery and generally rubbish. So we get the new TV back home, set it up, and its the same!
I've tried the following:
1. New aerial cable from booster to new tv, same result.
2. Swapped outputs, so the output that was feeding the downstairs tv, fed the bedroom tv and vice versa, same result.
It's not possible due to the size/weight to test the main tv in the bedroom, so asides from trying another booster (which i'm not convinced is the issue), i'm at a bit of a loss.
One more snippet of info, i've tried looking through the tuning menu options, and have got so far as being able to see the Signal Strength and condition. On the channels that are problematic, the strngth is ok, but the condition is 0 (scale of 0 to 100 i beleive).
What next, i'm really peeved off with this situation as we both enjoy watching tv in bed.

What you need is to find a local aerial fitter. He will likely have a box that you can plug the RF cable into and it will tell you signal strength (and lots of other things by the look of them). That should tell you where you are, and what the problem is, then you can go about solving it. He will likely have a few ideas, mostly involving giving him some money, I'd imagine
In seriousness though, an aerial guy should be able to tell you what the problem is.

We had the same problem aerial guy sorted it in 20 mins., ours turned out to be the one feed we had not used for years in the loft was damp and there was not enough copper on the outside sheathing .
But i've tried a different cable, and same issue. I'll have to get in touch with an aerial guy like suggested.Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
