Is anyone else experiencing streaming problems with BBC Radio2?

During Chris Evans the connection keeps breaking. Sometimes it comes back, after a few seconds, sometimes I need to restart. I do not have similar problems with 6Music, or or ther BBC channels.

Could it just be that the Tune-In server can't match demand?

There does not seem to be a similar problem with the iRadio App on my iPad.

Thanks

Same problem here. It lasts for a while, then infrequently drops out...then dies.

Restart sorts it out, but it's a ballache.

Are there any other options for streaming radio?

Interesting. I've been getting the same thing with BBC R1 and R4. Annoying.

I get this as well. On Radios 5, 6 and 2.

Also the fact that they now don't stream when there is a commentary on is a PITA.

And whilst having a moan, losing the Last FM service where you could name a few artists and it would play "similar" artists is rubbish as well.

Happens all the time for us too and we are using a Revo K2 internet radio where Radio2 continually drops out, started getting bad about a month ago and it also happens on Radio4 between 8am and 10am CET. Revo say it's a BBC problem and not the radio which I'm inclined to agree as it doesn't happen to other stations.

So presumably it is a capacity issue? Unlike normal broadcasting, everyone streaming needs a port on the BBC servers to connect to?

What does Tune-in Radio actually do? I presumed they had one BBC connection and then had huge servers to repeat it to many individual listening devices.

The other thing you can do is put the URL in manually.

It's sometimes a bit more reliable.

Just tried that, nothing happens in Tunien radio in the Sonos interface.

I think that Tune in Radio is the weak link. As I do not have a problem with BBC iRadio player.

But that is not useable within Sonos
