Hey guys,

My wife recently got a Sony HiFi system with Bluetooth. The plan was to also get a portable Sony Bluetooth speaker so that she could listen to music in the garden.

I have spent the evening trying to get the damn things paired but all they do is flash at me. Any ideas?

I'm not an expert but won't both devices be expecting to be paired with something like a smartphone to *recieve* music.

The hifi won't be designed to *send* music to the speaker

on the other hand, if you do have a smartphone or a tablet you'll have an ideal set up

If the hifi has a headphone socket then you might be able to use a bluetooth transmitter .. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_15?url=...

but, in my experience, they can be fiddly.

Probably worth a go for a few quid though

Edited to say that you could also use your laptop as a music source!

We only have desktop pcs, would a Bluetooth USB adapter do the same job? At least then she won't have to keep updating her playlists on her USB stick.
