TV Wall Mounting Brackets
Discussion
Hi,
I have a nice new slim 4K OLED TV and I'm thinking of wall mounting it. I want a bracket that's as slim as possible. The TV is 55", but as it's OLED it's very light, only 13kg.
I've seen brackets from £7 right up to £100. Why is there such a huge price difference?!
Are there any better than the others? I might get a tilting one, so I can get the angle correct for 3D viewing. I would also prefer one with a picture frame type of wall bracket, so I can install sockets in the centre of the bracket, rather than above, below or to the side.
Thanks,
Dan

You won't get it tight to the wall if you fit a power socket behind. Also check if the HDMI etc connections are on the rear, again you need to leave enough gap for connectors. Finally a tilting bracket usually stands off more than a flat bracket.
Why do they charge £100? Because mugs pay that much! You should be able to pick up a suitable bracket for £20ish.

I have a very thin Samsung screen that I wanted to have as tight to the wall as possible. I came to the same conclusion that you did in that you seem to be able to pay from a few quid to absurd prices.
I spent about £20 on mine and it works perfectly, it's pretty much the same as this:

TV is still on the wall after several year, so can't really fault it, but maybe not so good if you want to tilt it!

The Alphason brackets are good quality and really well priced. If you've spent loads on a nice TV you probably don't want to risk a £10 bracket.
