TV Gods, Educate Me!
Discussion
It is about time I upgrade from my trusty Sony Trinitron CRT to a new fandango telly befitting a man of my stature.
I sit about 3 meters from my telly, so think a 40 inch would be right and have Freesat with no real urge to get Sky, Virgin or what ever, but think I'll probably get an Amazon Firestick.
So what telly should I get, how much will it cost and where should I get it from?
Thanks
Willy.

What the others said. Always go to the next size up from where you're 'comfortable' - you won't regret it.
Remember that any new screen is going to be sitting further away anyway because it doesn't have a Battleship-sized cabinet like your CRT did.
I'd say 48" to 50" too. Samsung or Panasonic are the top tier these days, with Sony and LG a close second. With the amount of built-in apps in new sets, you'll probably find that one you've plugged in a network cable you won't need a firestick anyway.
Happy shopping!

I cant offer much technical help but I bought a 40" TV last year as an upgrade from my 32" set. I also sit around 3m from the screen and I now wish I'd gone for a 50" instead.
The 40" seemed big enough on the day but soon felt a little lacking especially when watching movies with the 'letterbox' black bands.
Just something to consider
