After a new tv and as I love my Phillips hue lights thinking of an ambilight tv.

Anyone with experience of them? They seem to be scantily stocked.

Probably a very good reason why then....

It is easy to get a hue light strip behind the telly....

The technology is a nice idea, but they never really had the panels to match it, and I didn't think they even still made them!

I'd have to buy a TV based on panel performance, rather than the ambilight. There's some 3rd party ways to do it too, so can be added to other TVs just not as easily.

Seems they're about to replace it with Ambilux too, that looks even more impressive!

I saw something recently that looked far better quality than lightberry but I forget what it was. All the light strips pluggee into a box with what looked like Rj45 plugs, it wasn't that expensive either, about £70 per kit.

This was it http://www.lightpack.tv

Except it's only compatibly with a computer, not the things most people use with a TV.

Yes, I didn't realize that, shame because the quality of the hardware looks top notch compared to the competition. Lightberry and Ambivision look very 'cheap'
