Evening all,

I use my garage a lot to work on the tvr, detailing, and the odd bike now and again. Until now i've been making do with a small micro hifi but having just dropped it (doh!) it looks like a good time to find something better.

So..whilst I know it won't get me truly decent sound, as it's going in the garage then features are probably more important.
Budget is around £150, maybe a tiny bit more. Ideally i want a system with DAB, and Bluetooth, not fussed on a cd player though.

Only thing that's caught my eye is this one: http://www.richersounds.com/product/mini-hi-fi/sha...

But was hoping for any other recommendations? I don't even think going 2nd hand will enable me to get anything much better.

Looks good to me. I have a similar thing in the garage. Tend to listen to the radio mostly. Find a station playing some good rock music. Job done smile

Hi David,

I have this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UN16WB2?keyw... very tough and portable if you buy a battery. Also sound quality is good and you can bluetooth / plug in ipods etc. Also you can charge iphones etc off it using USB.

Cheers,
Jon

That's what I'd do - just hook up a Bose Mini Soundlink.

I'd probably go for something like this http://www.richersounds.com/product/mini-hi-fi/pio... and the 49quid JBL speakers that Richer Sounds sell. Few quid on some wire (B&Q 79-strand would do) so you can put the speakers out of the way.
I think that's the one i'm leaning towards! Might get it now in the sale and use it in the spare room until the garage is insulated and boarded so it doesn't get too damp. I've already thrown my old Kef Cresta speakers up on the walls (an excuse to get something new and shiny for the house system). That Pioneer should be enough power to get them moving in what is quite a large room.
