Is it likely to be any good? I'm not a massive TV geek and it's not going to be used for anything special, just normal TV watching. Is there anything else worth looking at?

It's just a big screen; and cheap. I'd be happy with it at that money - but if you're expecting Wi-Fi or Smart features, it has none.

If it's only missing smart features, Chromecast would fix that.

I have a 29" one, bought a few years ago for £149. It's okay, looks good, thin with a thin bezel. Picture quality is okay, nothing special but watchable. Good remote and menu functions.

Don't think I'd want one for my main TV, my Panasonic Plasma has a far better picture.

From previous experience with JVC LED tvs, your CRT will probably blow the JVC away picture wise...

I think only the first year or two of JVC LCD TVS were JVC, from then on they're based on low budget, generic badge engineered tvs, shared with other ex-brands, Bush, Grundig, Hitachi

So are JVC no good then? Was looking at the smaller 40 inch JVC offering for £220. Dont need Smart/WiFi etc as the BT box does all that.
