Currently i have a nice room ready for a projector. I have a 5.1 Pioneer but going to update the 5 speakers with new CA's in white. I cant afford to change the Amp and Sub yet.

The top of the unit would be cleared and we have a modular sofa arriving this weekend.

i dont want to spend more than this at the moment but can you recommend anything else?
Am i missing anything?

It isn't the biggest room... Do you need a projector?
A telly would fit on that wall just fine... and be useful in daylight.

I can't see the room dimensions, so this might not be an issue, but check the throw distance.

To fill the 92" screen with the Optoma, it will need to be between 3m and 3.3m from the screen. Is that compatible with the room set up?

It seems like a reasonable deal to me. I run a BenQ W1070 which is a lot cheaper (£470), but does not have the Darbee built in. I have a separate Darbee and find it really good when used at low-ish levels.

I can't see the dimensions, but I am not sure I'd be without my projector now, even though the image is really too big for my room (92" at 10ft viewing distance).

Good point about the daylight. My screen is directly in front of a 55" TV. The projector gets used the vast majority of the time, but I use the TV whenever there is any light in the room at all, or for poorly encoded or SD material

So your viewing distance is going to be almost 5m? I'd definitely go for a projector at that distance - I love my 92" screen and I sit closer than that.

You might want to be a little bit careful with the mounting. At 2.9m on full zoom, the Optoma will project a maximum 89" image - still a great size, but you might find it a bit annoying on a 92" screen as it looks much better if you project right to the black borders. If you can move it back 10cm, you will get the full 92" according to the calculator.

Ceiling height shouldn't matter too much, but remember that the projector needs to be in line with the very top or very bottom of the screen.

A screen with a 92" diagonal will have a drop of around 45" plus borders, so if your ceiling is 12 feet high and the projector is mounted to that there will be a significant gap between the bottom of the screen and the floor, meaning that you might be looking 'up' at the screen rather than 'across' at it. Some people prefer that anyway.

Bought myself a mount which can drop up to 1.9 meters. I can also easily move it back 10 CM to take advantage of the larger screen... good shout
