The gap between the mantle and windowsill in our back lounge is about 140 cm, it currently has an oldish 40 inch Samsung, non smart tv, would like to upgrade to a Smart tv of a bigger size, being old it has a two inch thick bezel round it so we can go bigger screen wise and little bit physically as its 98 wide, trouble is there seems to be loads of 40 to 43 inch tvs which will fit, then a jump to 48/49 which wont as they are generally 108 cm wide.

So, what happened to the 44 to 47 range of tvs ?

Dont want to spend a fortune, nothing fancy, any sugestions ?

Hi Jacko

You'll get a 48" in that gap without problem. Just go on the Samsung site and take a look. I swapped a 40" plasma in my lounge out for a 48" and the 48" was actually smaller due to the lack of bezel.

I'd avoid curved but that's just me.

Yeah, its not far off but the absolute max is just short of 105 and it says

Product Dimensions: 107.6 x 6.7 x 62.5 cm ; 12 Kg

On Amazon, would have to lose 2 and a bit cm to get it in and that would involve hacking the mantle piece on the right and the windowsill on the left.

Sorry - I couldn't follow your original post then. Did you not say you have 140 to play with? Whats is the size of the opening?

Yeah, sorry 140 was a typo, 104 is the gap, decided to hang fire anyway, not really that bothered for an extra 3 inches of screen.
