So as above.

I've just managed to acquire a pair of Camridge Audio R50's and a Sanyo CDA-1001 amplifier.

It's all rather tasty... paired with the Pro-ject Elemental turntable I have.

1970's goodness!

Any experience, thoughts or advice would be nice...They're fking huge.

ETA: Picture, excuse the mess...

Looks excellent.
No experience of those parts but have had three 70s Amps and loved them all.

Always worth checking the DC offset, turn volume to min, select and input with nothing connected and measure DC on the speaker terminals. Should be <50mV ideally. Can often be set using a pot on the main board but worth looking for a service manual online.
Also look for any capactitors that are buldging/leaking and replace them before they pop. Others have probably dried out and changed value but its hard to tell without taking each out.

Always worth spraying some contact cleaner into the volume, balance, tone pots and selector switches too.

Is the speaker under the table a MS Carnival/Pagent? Have the MS Pagent 2's and love them.
