Following our house extension had the the green light to replace the lounge TV with something bigger and newer.

Have always wanted a Panasonic Plasma but obviously these are now discontinued. However have found a 2013 42ST50 with 2 years warranty remaining for sale.

I'm not interested in UHD so on balance are these still a worthwhile purchase compared to the current / recent range of LCD / LED sets?

Thread further down the page on pretty much this subject, concensus seems to be unless youre spending the earth on an OLED nothing comes close to a good plasma.

Cheers! Don't know how I missed that...

Definitely don't have the budget or space for an OLED so £300 on a 2nd hand plasma in good nick with remaining warranty feels like a good decision!

So ended up with a Panasonic PX-42ST50 for £325 with 2 years RS warranty remaining....and it is fabulous!
