Planning on wanting to pipe music all around the house and preferably TV served from a central hub but allows for independent control in each room. Looking for a top end specification that also requires the least amount of cabling infrastructure / disruption. Probably 8-10 rooms in total. Where do I start and what would be a good hardware brand to go for and recommended suppliers. Norwich area.

B&O multiroom - no contest.

You will need to read up on it properly or go and see you local dealer but a much better combination of hands on and app based interface than any other.

Wireless (other than mains) assuming a decent network.

Multiroom (including the TVs) but each speaker/room also has Bluetooth, DLNA, its own ability to play Deezer, Spotify connect, google cast, tune in and line in all of which can also be distributed.

Sound quality is superb, and a big range of designs from discreet to centre piece.

Priced from £799 for the BeoPlay A6

BeoSound 1 is amazing and can be used multiroom but is wireless so can be taken into the garden or bathroom, or taken on holiday and used via Bluetooth.

Imagine B&O will be a hugely expensive option? Sonos is an obvious choice apart from the TV. You'd need a central Sky box or similar and then multiswitch sending the TV signal across the house.

This is not something that can be answered in a forum.

There are far to many variables on both sides to get a proper answer - From my installer side, the option of kit is endless and what might be high end to me, may not be high end to you, think £100K plus for proper top end.

You can (and we do) do it for a lot cheaper, but a lot harder to nail down.

From your side, what you are asking for may not acutually be what you practically need, to give an example I have adopted a system in London that has 11 sky boxes (no I dont know why either) but there are only 3 people that live there, so a well designed system would allow them to share just 3 boxes to all their tv screen and still have complete indepent choice and control.

Things to look at

HDBaseT Matrixes (Wyrestorm, CYP, Bluestream, Pulse8, Crestron, AudioPatch)
HDoverIP Solutions (most of the above)
Sonos
Sonos & Seperate higher end amps and speaker
Nuvo Streamers
Denon Heos
Yamaha Multicast

Thats just a simple cast around what we use here.

Happy to help you further, just not easy to give good informed direction on a forum with the info you have given.

Vex, I agree. To some extent my question was akin to "How long is a piece of string?". Of course the answer to that one is twice the length from the middle to the end. But I do need to provide more detail. Happy to have a conversation "off-line" if this is something you feel you can help with?
