New Audio for house extension
Discussion
Just in the middle of adding a single storey extension across the back of our house - about 9m wide and 3.5 deep. Knocking down the existing back wall to open into the extension. This gives me the chance to change the audio system for both TV and music but I don't really have a clue what to do.
I've tried to describe the layout in this picture.

I want to be able to have a system for the TV, play music in the sitting area and play music in the extension when we're using the dining table. Another point, my wife is allergic to speakers and wires.
Currently have a basic Onkyo 3305 which is fine for TV, appalling for music, so music is via a Marantz MCR603 (streaming from a Synology NAS) and some old speakers.
For the TV I could stick with the Onkyo but would also like to consider a Sound Bar (see above on speaker allergy). If it is capable of decent music too, so much the better. For music in the extension I was wondering about ceiling speakers with a pair above the dining table and a pair above the other area whose function is yet to be decided. I'd then need something to drive them of course. I could use the Marantz but I'd like to be able to drive audio and TV sound from a single app on an iPad, not a variety of interfaces. I fear this is taking me inexorably in the direction of something like Sonos (I have managed to stop at a Play 1 in the kitchen so far) but would really appreciate any views or advice.

If you already have Sonos in the kitchen then I would use a Sonos Connect AMP + Pair of ceiling speakers in the dining area.

If you're not bothered about Sonos then the Systemline E50 is really good, bluetooth only system, more than adequate for that area. http://kitchenbathroomradio.co.uk/kitchen-ceiling-...
In the TV area, it's hard to tell from the size of your picture but at most I'd put a single stereo speaker in that area.
For the TV itself, sound bar.. Sonos if you can stretch, if not the Q Acoustics M4 is really good. http://kitchenbathroomradio.co.uk/q-acoustics-medi... you can fit sound bars to the TV bracket with a special adapter to keep it looking clean and wire free.
