So, after John Lewis' repair team damaging my 3 1/2 year old TV whilst away for repair, they have today confirmed a full refund for me on the original purchase price, so the hunt for a new TV starts today. Got £1200 store credit to play with, not looking to add masses to it as don't see the point, maybe £300-£500. Where would your money be going & why?

I've got my eye on one of these in the not-too-distant: http://www.johnlewis.com/samsung-ue55ks9000-curved... Should fit nicely in your budget. Looked at OLED but apparently the SUHD sets get very close to them whilst not being silly money, they've been very well reviewed.

I watched The Martian in 4K on my mate's one and decided I knew where my money would be going.

If you're not bothered about the curved scree, this one is £400 less.

The KS7000 is from the range below.

The KS8000 is the flat version of the 9000: http://www.johnlewis.com/samsung-ue55ks8000-suhd-h...
