Hi

I'm looking to get a new 4k TV. I'm looking at a 55" up to about £1000.

Has anybody got any recommendations?

I was looking at LG's but have seen some negative comments re backlighting and lip-sync.

Are Samsung or Panasonic any good?

I went to Richer sounds but they were not very helpful and Currys is full of vultures.

It's a bit of a mine field.

Thanks

Tonsko

Eurogamer's Digital Foundry (their hardware review arm) has done a piece on 4K Tvs - albeit for gaming, but it will give you a starting point.

I can't paste a URI here for some reason, but google 'Eurogamer 4K TV' should be the top result.

Have a look here:

And here:

Personally, I would be looking for a set that was capable of displaying HDR if budget allows.

I think that the Samsung 55KS7000 takes a beat of beating for £1k.

Build is not the greatest, but it looks good and the picture quality seems great.

It seems to be the subject of a price war at the moment, so if you can wait a few weeks it might even be a bit cheaper.

HDR TV for under your budget. Otherwise samsung is a good shout, as others say I'd expect prices to drop a bit over the next few weeks.

Stretch your budget and opt for last years LG OLED, they're on offer on the Black Friday deals.
