Struggling with Xmas ideas for my Mum and thought something like this could be useful as for whatever reason she's terrified to go near things such as iPlayer and Youtube on her computer.

She already has a Freeview HD TV and isn't interested in paying a monthly subscription for content.

These look a decent option, any comments and any alternatives I should be considering please?

Get a Google Chromecast - Now TV is one of the many apps on there.

They're simple to operate, the interface is quick enough not to be frustrating and they are cheap.

To actually get NowTV though you will need to pay for content, although this is quite cheap if you buy longer bundles (3 month, 6 month etc)

You do get most of the free to air apps though: iPlayer, 4od etc

Am I being a tool or doesn't that have a remote?

Think elderly not too IT literate lady who still picks up the TV Times rather than use the on-screen programme guide biggrin
