Sooo my situation is:

Had a 42" samsung for years and years so not one for changing often but its dieing so needs replacing in the sales.

max budget is 1000 preferably more 6-800

dont like massive tvs, 3d ones or curved!

watch a lot of films and always have the lights off - dont want backlit

havent really researched all the tech yet so dont know my oled from 4k so any advice appreciated.

dont sit that far away from the tv

have sky so dont really need lots of smart tv crap unless you think its better etc

advice please!

Ive just bought a LG 49UH850v - 4k, HDR/Dolby Vision and WEB OS - its brilliant.

Got it for £690 on Black Friday - is currently £999 but sure it will drop down again at some point.
