OK. I have an 8 year old 40" Samsung but I'm desperate for some new tech... I've managed to persuade the Mrs that the current TV is damaging my eyes when using the Xbox ;-) I'm not 100% sure she has actually fallen for this ....

So... These are my requirements...

Must cost no more than £700 and I really mean that. £700.01 ? No chance.

Must be new with a 5 year warranty. This makes it easier to sell to SWMBO.

Must be either 49 or 50". Preferable 49" as that extra inch will make it sound much smaller to SWMBO.

Must be 4k.

Must have passive 3D. I know the feelings are split on 3D but I have a large collection of 3D Blu-ray's that I still enjoy.

Been browsing today and it appears that the only TV that meets that criteria is an LG available at Curry's .... I cringe at the thought of buying ANYTHING at Currys but their is one 2 minutes from my house ....

Thoughts appreciated :-)

Richer Sounds are your friends thumbup

Find you local branch and go in and talk to them. Just bought an LG 4K 43" set for the kitchen at £369 so I'd hope they have something that fits your budget. If you aren't too near a store call one and talk over the phone, they are very good.

Yeah been buying stuff from them for years. Mostly HiFi though. They have nothing that matches the criteria ...

It really does look like I'm going to have to buy this set from ( YUK ) Currys....

LG 49UH850V Smart 3D 4k Ultra HD HDR 49" LED TV

It may not be the best TV in the world but it's a magnitude better than my old Samsung and 3D. Looks like that's the clincher.... Manufacturer's are dropping it so they are thin on the ground ....

It might be easier to find a missus that will leave you in charge of your own testicles... hehe

Costco and John Lewis do 5 year warranties as standard.
