Big corner TV unit, or two small ones?
Discussion
Short version -
I need cheap corner TV stand big enough for old 42" and a pair of speakers.
Long version -
I spent all night last night looking/thinking of a better way to place the TV in my spare room/office/mancave/gaming room.
It's going in an alcove, but it needs to be angled towards the centre(ish).
I did think of a long unit in the alcove, with the TV at the end, at an angle, which would be good, but I'd have nowhere for the speakers.
So, onto a corner unit, but I can find one that's big enough for an old 42" (which has roughly same outer dimensions as the new 49") and a pair of decent size bookshelf speakers.
So my next though, was two of something like this...

But shoving one along each wall backwards, so that the two chamfered edges meet up.
My only concern is if the cheap units don't have laminate along the rear edges.
So, first off, does anyone know of a better solution without going mad on price, or can anyone confirm if Argos stuff is fully laminated at the back.

Well, that's that idea out the window!
No they're not laminated on the back edge, but thought I'd get some of that edging tape as above.
Laid them out against the wall where they'd be going, and the angles aren't 45deg, so they taper in away from the corner.
On top of that, they're not quite deep enough to place the TV on without moving them out from the wall, which looked s
te.
Knocked up exactly what I wanted on cad, I can get it out of 3 sheets of MDF, I just need to find somewhere who will cut it all to size/shape and deliver it, or find a joiner to do it and put it together.
