As per title, do dealers get paid to handle warranty repairs or is it just part of what they do?

I purchased a hifi and then moved house, so the warranty repair has been arranged kindly via a local dealer as the manufacturer despite agreeing that it would be a factory repair of the fault wouldn't accept it directly... Just wondering how much to spend on a thank you gift of chocolates or something. Any suggestions?

If they sent it on, I can't imagine they get paid. Unless you are saying they repaired it on behalf of manufacturer, for which they usually do.

Was a factory repair. Manufacturer collected and dropped off but will get a thank you gift for dealer and probably put more business their way in future.

Sounds like a decent thing to do.

No we don't get paid (at least not with the brands I work with!)

We've helped numerous people who've not actually bought from us and I think most decent companies would do the same as long as it doesn't cost them too much.

Often results in a new customer...

No we don't get paid. But it's protecting the relationship with the client or wining a new one.

If I did I would make less money I recon as clients would soon find out and use someone else next time.

No retailer of HiFi seperates get paid by any manufacturer that I am aware of.

Any sane retailer would help you because you become their customer if they help. Without service, why not justbuy from whoever is cheapest on the net?

same as above, and in most cases we have to pay for shipping.

Oh, and you can forget any idea of an advance replacement. B2B support is shocking, when B2C usually has to be top notch.
