Another speaker switch question

I'm in the middle of building a kitchen/dinning room extension and would like ceiling speakers built in. I'm also renovating a room off the extension that will have 5.1 surround sound. Is it possible to wire the ceiling speakers to the amp and just use the ceiling speakers and not the 5.1 surround sound . The amp is a Marantz NR 1051 .

You need an AV Receiver with a zone 2 to do this.. From the limited information I can find on your one unfortunately you don't have that capability.

Would suggest just adding some bluetooth ceiling speakers for the other room, or replace your AV receiver. http://kitchenbathroomradio.co.uk/kitchen-ceiling-...
