As per title, our 2 year old launched his Schleich toy tiger at our Samsung smart TV.

Loads of lines vertically and horizontally but no actual puncture or visible external damage.

Is it knackered? or perhaps repairable?

certainly fixable but more than likely not cost effective,

panels are very expensive

As above will be expensive I would get a new one through the house insurance.

Can't see how that's viable, small claims don't really stack up once you factor in excess and hiked premiums.

It wouldn't be an accident then.

Would doubt it would make a big difference to your premium isn't that what it's for? Some people seem reluctant to claim.

I don't get this either. Haven't needed to claim for some time so maybe things have changed but we twice claimed for accidental damage to carpets and can't recall any issue with excess or increased premium.

I think most policies cover accidental damage to TVs as standard even without the full accidental damage add-on.

Worth a try but doubtfull from the number of lines you describe...

I had a single vertical line and was very close to dumping the telly and getting a new one, even posted on here about it.

What I did was bend the screen about a bit and the line vanished, it has been over three months and all good.

We claimed for 2 bikes that were stolen from our underground bike rack, claim was about £1200 our policy went up about 40 quid at renewal which I'm sure would have included the standard yearly price increase.

Cheers.

It's not our main TV thankfully but is a nice one - dug out the receipt and £479

I've literally just switched home insurance so not ideal to chuck a small claim in.

Think I'll let that slide as already annoyed by the breakage!
