DVD player borked?

Hi guys, after a quick bit of advice. Current DVD player has a tendency to pause briefly (fraction of a second) from time to time. Sometimes (but not always) this results in the audio going slightly out of sync. Is it worth getting a DVD cleaning kit/lens cleaner or does it sound like a new DVD player is required?

Sounds like it's just the layer change as the laser refocuses on the disc's second layer. It's normal. Most players do it.

Yep.

I believe it's in the BluRay spec to cache enough that the layer change does not result in a skip/pause so any BluRay player shouldn't exhibit that behaviour.
