Hi PH massive,

Just received a Denon CD receiver with a couple of "Tannoy" satellite speakers apart from Radio and CD this is also the output from my pc. but it lacks base for certain applications,

Looking at the rear of the unit it has a connections for sub, however an audiophile i am not. my old set up was a simple 2 speaker and sub from logitech around 30£.

guess im looking for recommendations for a sub, does this have to be powered or not?

don't really know anything about this hifi/ music lark.

regards
Mark

The sub output will more than likely be line level so any connected sub will need to be active (self powered).

UK built, reasonably priced and highly recommended subs here:

You only need a little bass boost, so something like a little Monitor Audio or Polk (sure others available) would be fine. No need to go mad at all.

Should be somewhere between £100 & £200.

Or look on eBay or Av forums and pick something up second hand.

Fair enough but a BK Gemini2 with 10" driver at £225 looks ideal.
