What's the best bang for my buck in the £40 or less bracket regarding Bluetooth portable speakers?
I'm open to any suggestions.

This is a nice unit too but it won’t blow you away if it’s volume you want. Not many at this price will.

I’ve recently got one of the above Ankers for the kitchen, and am impressed with the sound quality for the money.

Another vote for the Anker Sound lab 2. Ours has been great.

Thanks for the suggestions everybody, but the problem got solved today.
I was shopping and spotted a Torre psyc 2.1 system for £25.
Had a demo and was surprised at the depth of the sound from it.
Its got a built in radio too which is nice.
Its certainly not high end audiophile but more than passable for a cheap portable Jobby.
The remote is pretty crap but its not needed for everyday use.
Its a bit big for a true portable but it's mainly for use in the bedroom and garden so that's not a problem for me.

Been playing various bass heavy tunes for an hour so far and the kicks and 808's sound decent and sustained sub's (sines) only distort when less than 50hz.

Only gamble is how long it will last

Cheers!
