Mini System Bookshelf Speakers ?

10 year old Bose Wave has died and I'm looking to replace with possibly same again but also interested in Mini System ....any recommendations or advice would be appreciated .

I'm basically looking for a system that will play cds and memory sticks .
It is destined for a house in France so not worried about radio.

I've got a few bits of Denon kit and find it very good.
