Any HDMI CEC/ARC experts out there?

Hi folks,
Recently purchased a Panasonic SU-HTB488 soundbar to go with my Hisense H65M7000 TV. Although it's a cheap-ish soundbar the improvement is vast over the TV speakers and I'm verybhappy with it, apart from one thing.
It's connected via a HDMI cable to the TV's ARC source, the TV does detect the soundbar and when I switch the TV off it also powers down the soundbar. It is also supposed to switch the soundbar on when I switch the TV on, negating the need for the soundbar's own remote. This function however doesn't work.
Any ideas?
