Evening all,

Ok, not home cinema, but a car tweeter, same principle I'm sure.

I bought a pair of mids and tweeters from a popular auction site, but the tweeters have some damage. Not sure if this is cosmetic or not? That will teach me from buying on my phone, as the pictures do clearly showsthe "damage", so don't have much come back.

Will this pop out once in use? If not, will it have much impact on the sound quality? I'll fit it to the passenger side smile

It rarely affects the sound to any great degree (if at all).

If you measured the frequency response with some specialist tools, you would likely see a few odd peaks and dips, but would you hear them?

Unlikely, especially in a car.

If it bothers you that much, you might be able to disassemble the unit and gently press the dents out, but personally I wouldn't bother.

A metal dome tweter will never be the same once the dome has been compromised. That said, whether you'll hear the difference, especially in a car, is another matter!
