Virgin V+ to TIVO to V6

Our V+ box has stopped rewinding live tv & apparently the HDD has failed so need to swap. Was told it would be to a V6 box & a box has arrived which I've installed but no channels viewable so rang 150 - turns out they've sent me a TIVO. They've admitted they screwed up & are sending a V+ but in the meantime I have the TIVO to use for 5 days. I've used one at my in-laws & its a piece of st to operate compared to the V+ - whats the V6 like in comparison to a V+ box?

V+ box on channel guide you can use the red or green button to scroll through the channels a page at a time rather than the up/down buttons to go a channel at a time as on the TIVO (or is there a way). Please tell me V6 isn't like this.
Setting reminders - On TIVO you have to record it at the same time instead of just change the channel when the programme starts. Why the fk would I want to watch it & record it?

Please tell me for the next 5 days there are ways to overcome this rubbish & that going forward the V6 doesn't have these stupid ways about them.

Its been a long time since i used a V+ but the V6 is faster. You can still scroll the pages of the guide without going one by one through the channels. Just use the channel +/- button (even on the Tivo)

Also the V6 can record 5 or 6 programmes without having to watch them.

Unless I'm doing something wrong the channel +/- button scrolls channel by channel rather than page by page. With V+ if you start on BBC1 (channel 101) you see 6 channels (0 - 105) press the red button jumps you to page 2 where you see channels 106-111, press red again jumps to page 3 & you see 112-117 so on & so on but there doesn't appear to be that option with TIVO.

How do you just set a reminder & it change channel for the programme you want to watch WITHOUT also recording it?

There must be something wrong with your remote as the channel up down button does it for both our TiVO and also V6 box.

Sorry misread your other question on reminder - I think Tivo is reminder & record the same as V6. I know it is not logical!
