What do I need to consider when recessing a tv?
Discussion
I'm considering ditching the tv stand we're currently using and building a false chimney breast around the current brick chimney breast and recessing the tv into it.
Currently I only have a xbox and sky box hooked up to the tv as we don't particularly use it very much I'm not looking to build a huge home entertainment system or anything.
I was considering extending the chimney breast out around 8-10 inches to the front and another 8 inches or so each side, so that we can have a second recess on the right hand side to house the xbox / sky box (and high enough to be out of reach of little hands)
I'm no expert when it comes to TV's and what I need and don't, so i'm just looking for a little guidance to get it right the first time, so that I'm not missing something down the line.
I'm thinking of having 3 - 4 plug sockets hidden inside the recess, along with all the hdmi and power cables. Should I be considering having anything else in there or am I good to get started?

Double up any cable. So if you need 2 HDMI's , run 4 in etc. Also get 4 cat6 cables down there too, as you can run most things over this. (ask me how I know...)
Also, USB maybe? for a webcam. With smart TV's and their apps, it's not a bad shout to have skype et al on the big TV.
Any other cables for audio too!

I can't really add much other than don't forget some kind of venting, all those bits get quite warm when being used.
This /\I would think about going a little further and add some form of forced cooling behind the TV. A mid sized computer fan and cheap wall wart 12V power supply will cost very little.
