Cheap 2nd hand Surround Sound Amp suggestions please?
Discussion
Needs to be really cheap as I'm skint!
Current system;
Creek Evo 2 2channel Amp
Kef 104/2 speakers
REL 12" sub
I've also got;
Yamaha DSP e800 but I've lost* the remote control for it rendering it useless-ish
Acoustic Energy AE109's - on loan
Acoustic Energy Aego M - Been hammered mercilessly at many house parties and stag weekends...
3 cheap ariston speakers 1 of which I'm using as a centre speaker.
I want to use the Creek, Kef's and REL as a base system for music and front speakers. The AE109's as rears, to be replaced with the active Aego M's if/ when the owner (my Dad) want's them back.
The Rel has inputs for amplified and unamplified signals. The Aego M system, also has an active sub powering satilitte speakers with inputs for L/R/C. I can get these both to work with a bog standard AV amp.
What I'm after is a simple to use (the Yamaha AV amp is a right PITA) AV amp to drive a centre speaker rears and possibly sub, with an un-amplified output for the fronts ( It needs to have optical inputs)
Any suggestions? Or offers of free redundant stuff?
What is rated as a brand in the AV amp world?
Thanks!

- Lost - I say lost, what I mean is, I thought it was redundant and chucked it in the bin whilst I was in the process of moving house. I remember the moment, I thought it was the remote for some active speakers I gave away some years previously.

Try eBay for a remote control for the Yamaha, probably the cheapest method.
I have an old Denon 3802 which I just drive through an HDMI spdif breakout box so something like that could also be an option.
Yep, been looking for a remote for a couple of weeks with no joy, but the amp itself isn't user friendly, want rid of it.I have an old Denon 3802 which I just drive through an HDMI spdif breakout box so something like that could also be an option.
Will have a gander for the Denon, thanks.
