Man Cave Audio
Discussion
Buying a new house at the moment and there is a Man Cave/Decked area at the bottom of the garden.
It'll be mainly used for me to watch the footy, play Xbox and then as a drinks/BBQ area when we have parties
For sound I am considering a 2nd hand AV AMP (Marantz/Onkyo etc) with some half decent bookshelf speakers
I am assuming if I get a few Chromecast audios I could then have same music in house and in there?
I dont know if something more modern might be better rather than just buying what i know
It'll need about 2 inputs (TV/Xbox) and then the ability for decks/mixer to be hooked up on occassion
I would also like to then be able to play the music both inside and outside (maybe on a BT speaker)
I dont want much do I

No mention of budget but these are a cracking pair of bookshelves for the money.

If you're only doing stereo a 2 channel amp would be fine with a Chromecast audio. Run the TV into it too for better sound.
If you wanted to go 5.1 this is a bit of a billy bargain...

For outdoor spalshproof sounds this is well thought of...

Think I would go 2 channel, not too fused about 5.1 or anything
Heard about the UE, how would I get the sound from the Amp? Add a BT Adaptor to the Amp?
I have been looking on Ebay mainly as there seem to be a lot of people selling this kind of stuff 2nd hand (assuming upgrades or selling non wife friendly stuff)

Scratch that idea. The UE has no aux in for a CCA.I'm struggling to find a portable with Chrome Cast built-in for sensible money.

Alternative is a regular portable with an aux in. Plenty of those to choose from...

Yeah my thoughts were either a regular or something wired that had an IP rating I'm struggling to find a portable with Chrome Cast built-in for sensible money.

The missus has ideas on a large wooden gazebo area so I was thinking of running some wire out to the roof of that, some small sattelites and on the B channel of the amp, although a standard portable with a CCA might be an easier option

Plus it gives you some flexibility. You can use it in a room in the house at other times.I'm assuming the Chromecast will take it's power from the speakers USB port.

No power required that way.
