I've had 2 TVs running in the house for a while now, main one in the living room, the other in a bedroom through magic eye. I now have another bedroom with a TV in it, have installed a splitter in the loft and the original 2 TVs work fine through it.

The 3rd won't seem to take a signal to the magic eye ( tested and fine ). I've swapped the outputs from the splitter to check the cables, and made up a short length of coax from the splitter to double check that the cabe to the 3rd TV isn't the problem. I can't think of anything else to try.

Is there something about the way Sky set HCD up now that prevents the use of a splitter in this way. Everything works when tested separately, but not when connected together.

I have a 2nd unused Sky box here, if the above setup can't be made to work, can I use this to get it going?

Presume it is a magic eye compatible splitter as one TV seems to be working. I found any sharp turns in the cable stopped the eye from getting power.

Does the Magic eye have an LED on it, is it lighting up? What splitter are you using? It needs to have power pass/DCpass or similar on all outs.

Hi, I can't get the magic eye to light up with the 3rd TV but it works when connected to the 2nd TV. The splitter is just a 3 way Konig passive. It seems to work fine with just the 2nd TV connected, but not the 3rd. Even if I disconnect the 2nd TV and use the same port to connect the 3rd TV, it still won't work, despite me bypassing the wall plate and running the magic eye direct from it.

My HD box is the newer type which requires an IO link. I've just read earlier today that it's only possible to run one extra TV with this setup, but don't know enough to be sure that's correct. Knowing Sky though, that's probably why they changed the format on the later HD box. Still doesn't explain why the 3rd TV magic eye won't come to life when the 2nd is disconnected.

Not smart about stuff like this, can you give me more detail about power pass and DC pass.

Thanks for the help so far.

The passive splitter should have 'dc pass' written on the label, usually with a line and arrow in red pointing to the port. Take a pic and post here.

You say you have bypassed the wall plate, this is good, often they have a small component built in which does not pass the 9v DC to power the eye.

All you can do is double check you connections , make sure there is not a short circuit, even one braid of wire can short out the cable but will still pass RF.

The IO link you have only has one RF out? There is a twin version available which also has a DC input for extra power.

Sometime a reboot of the Sky box can fix a magic eye connection, try this, the box will take a few minutes to come back on.

With a passive splitter you are pushing it with 2 tv’s connected, let alone 3.

Do you have power connected to you I/O Link?

Try that first and if not then either a different brand (we use Triax) or you will need to switch to an active amp/splitter that needs its own power.
