What sound system / speakers should I get for bedroom

Speakers / streaming I'm told Sonos, pair of 3 or maybe even 5 second hand would do.

What is the strength of Sonos? I may get a spotify account, but have used CDs and youtube in the past.

I like the idea of minimal wiring.

I would enjoy having internet radio


There's an overwhelming choice of setups out there. I don't want to spend a fortune, but don't mind paying for quality if it lasts for years.

Further down the line I'd like to invest in a DAC, and noticed the Sony str-dn1080 has good reviews - is there a superseded model that is not far off performance wise, that I can pick up second hand?

As a comparison, I have pretty high end hi fi in my lounge but find an Amazon Echo perfectly good for the bedroom. I subscribe to Amazon music which means pretty much everything is available, internet radio etc etc.

For great sound and not daft money go old school re timeless design and buy something from Ruark Audio.

It's a bedroom, doesn't need to be great to fill the room. if you like the Sonos concept, than a Sonos 1 or even a pair will be more than adequate.

3’s are about to be discontinued, so I would consider a pair of 1’s.

Cracking sound from them, especially when used as a pair.

I have quite a bit of Sonos kit , it’s not bad at all, easy to use and sounds good, the 3 is a very good buy second hand , I’ve seen them at less than £120 and in my opinion sound much better than a 1 as you get more bass and it’s stereo , only issue with Sonos is you keep spending more money on more speakers , I have speakers in every room now and a pair of 5s and a sub in the living room
