Small living room - bookshelves or Sonos?

I've got a small living room, about 3.5x5m, I'd like to get some sort of hi-fi system in. I only really use Spotify as a source.

I have a set of Eltax Monitor 3s not doing anything, so considering using them with a cheapo amp like this

And a Chromecast audio, so spending around £120

But I'm thinking the speakers are probably a bit overkill for the space, and if I flog them, my budget extends to about £170; perhaps Sonos 1 would be a better option? And perhaps do what I'm trying to achieve with less faffing about

Orrrr go with some sort of soundbar for the TV, and hook up a CA? Although I'm more interested in music than TV audio

If your budget can stretch I would buy a pair of Ruark MR1's. Not silly money but just epic.

A sonos 1 would do all you need, and the Spotify integration is excellent. Plus, you can add to it in due course with a pair, then the sonos soundbar.

3.5x5 is certainly big enough for a pair of floorstanders with an amp.
