Hello im trying to take feed a from the Quad LNB that we have, two feeds are going to a sky+ box but two are unused, now i have a cable running from one of those to another room where i have an old sky box, when switched on it says Error 29 No satellite signal
I tried plugging it into the other port and still the same message.
Also tried another cable just in case there was a break in the other line and still the same message shows up.
Do i have to have a viewing card ''one on the way'' to view any channels or is there another problem?
should i get a none sky freesat box ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Try connecting the working Skybox to those feeds to eliminate the old box?

I have an old sky + box as well so tried that with the feed and got the same result, my father is not being to kind about it as he is obsessed with watching TV.
I am now thinking that it will more than likely be the Lnb, are the simply a plug and play affair when changing over for the newest MK4 version Lnb or is there more to it?

Have you tried the unused shotgun cable in the working Sky+ decoder ?

If they work on that box, then there's no issue with the LNB outputs.

Where are you based ? You may find a friendly PHer nearby who has a satellite meter and a continuity tester.

the old lnb has two cables running into the new sky+hd box from it not a shotgun cable.
im trying to get one cable feed from the unused lnb ports to work but it has not worked on either of the old sky boxes which have no faults there simply surplus from upgrades.
I dont get why this isn't an easy fix its not rocket science :S

As others have said swap boxes. New box onto working cables, working box onto new cable.
If it proves to be your new lead then check that you have no outer braid touching the inner core of the cable.
Any short on the cable no matter how tiny will kill the signal.

I've just inspected both ends and changed the one on the lnb from the second to third port so will try the sky+ box now.
I don't have access to the newest box.

Sky box almost worked that or it froze but now has gone off and when switched on returns to telling me there is no signal.
