Sony AF9 Opinions
Discussion
Anyone own one of these? Opinions?
My TV (Pioneer 436XDE - 13yrs old) is starting to have the odd glitch so am thinking of what could replace it. It's been solid as a rock until now (occasionally loses its channels) and the picture quality still gets great comments from visitors....I think it has a bit of life left in it, but may go for a preemptive replacement.
I'm also finding my Mac Mini HTPC is getting a bit temperamental, so started to think about all in one replacements for both, and the Sony AF9 (55") looks to get good reviews and also runs a decent version of Android TV. Which I'm thinking will give me Kodi and/or Plex on top of a whole bunch of other stuff I've lived without to date (Netflix, YouView etc).
A bit more googling notes "IR Blaster" functionality so may also be able to control my AV receiver (Denon 2200) with the same remote control.
Wins all round...but does anyone have any experience of these sets?

The reviews have all been very good, but the price was very high compared to competitors from LG and Panasonic, even taking into account no need for a sound bar with the clever speaker system. I guess it comes down to whether you like the stand, slightly lent back style.
Launched at £2999 for the 55” this dropped to £2499 around Black Friday and then dropped to £2299 a couple of weeks ago. I’ve seen a few places offering it at £2089 but that hasn’t reached JL, Richer sounds etc yet!. I reckon once it’s below £2k my wallet may be in trouble.
Edit: Richer sounds have an extra £200 off code currently, so £2099, that price has come down a long way!
