We have a 8' projector (films, gaming) plus a regular TV (normal TV). All via a Pioneer amp. Firestick that we may want to feed to either screen.

I've got an 'auto' HDMI switch switch current plugged in round the back, but every now & then the TV will turn itself on. I suspected a dodgy HDMI cable, but replacements haven't fixed it.

Anyone know of a reasonably priced 'hard' switchable HDMI switch that would NOT auto swap?
Ideally with some wireless mechanism, perhaps that my Harmony hub could talk to. Don't want to have to press a button on the box.

I can see some around the £60-80 mark online, but would love to hear any recommendations

I had one that had an IR remote to manage the switching. Was always a little unreliable.

In the end I replaced my Amp with one that has two HDMI outs (switchable via the remote - so my harmony hub does it as part of the "activity" to watch things on the projector instead of the TV. Denon AVR X2200W

That would have been an advanced thing to do....but only got the Pioneer VSX-531 a year or so back (doh!). Mind you, that Denon would (I assume) absolutely prevent the bizarre cases we have where the Samsung TV randomly comes on when buttons for other things are pressed (or sometimes even not!). Just struggle to justify replacing a pretty decent amp for this rolleyes

Yeah, they look to start around £40.....I like the idea of the amp doing it properly, but 1/10th the price is hard to argue against!
Cheers

I got my first projector just before Christmas and needed to switch 4 HDMI inputs to 2 outputs.

Looked on Amazon and got this HDMI matrix which comes with a remote, so no need to press buttons on the matrix box itself..

The TV is a Panasonic VT plasma, and the PJ a BenQ W1210ST. I've been using the matrix quite extensively over the past couple of weeks and not had any instance of the TV or PJ auto powering on during this time, even if the "active" HDMI input device is powered up from standby.

The matrix remote does have on/off buttons for the 2 connected displays, but I never use them, as it switches the TV on in "digital TV" mode rather than HDMI/AV. The projector doesn't turn on at all as I think I disabled this function in the PJ menu.

So in summary, just switching active HDMI inputs on the matrix, or powering up connected source devices does not seem to cause the displays to switch on.

The matrix (so far) seems reliable. Picture quality is great, so no complaints at all.

ETA - regards picture quality, it is really great, but I am only using it for standard HD 1080p, not 4k, just to be clear.

I have an Hdmi matrix box you can have for 20 quid, it has 4 in, 2 out.

I have upgraded to an AV amp that has two outputs hence no longer required.
