Hi Folks,

A friend has a situation whereby they have a Xbox/TV in a upstairs bedroom with no access to Ethernet or roof aerial.

Is there a way to wirelessly connect the X box to the downstairs wireless network to stream TV? It's predominantly children TV programs they're interested in.

I remember a few years ago using Play TV via the PS3, albeit hardwired.

I'm sure the TV has a USB port, could TV via a Firestick work, again wirelessly?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

Luke.

Chromecast, iPlayer works well with it, as does Netflix.

for the inbuilt freeview you need the usb tuner so an indoor aerial would work, you can then pause and rewind the tv if needed

For live TV yes, not for streaming though.

For the sake of 25quid i still would do that, not a fan of streaming TV but yes it can be done via apps if supported

You can do it through the apps (iPlayer etc) over WiFi. We did this in the summer when decorating the lounge and everything was in another room. Fine for occasional viewing on catchup but was a pain if you were channel hopping!

As others have said the Xbox has built in wireless so you can use any of the streaming apps that are on the Microsoft store

Live TV is more of an issue and you might be best getting a cheap freeview box/dongle
