Firestick and Apps through Optical cable issue

Hi, bit of a home cinema beginner here but need some advice.

I have a Samsung frame tv with the one connect box.

I’ve connected up a pair of RuArk MR1 speakers via the optical output on the connect box which plays sound fine when watching sky however, when I try to use my firestick or an app there’s no sound just a dull humm.

I’m wondering if it’s the cable or something else? Ive read that firestick don’t have optical output anymore but would of thought that other apps would be ok?

Anyone experience this or have any suggestions?

Check in the firestick settings for the HDMI sound settings and check what it's set to.

I think for your application it should be bitstream

Thanks, looks like that’s done the trick, just need a better optical lead now
