Anyone tried MAD speakers ?
Discussion
Never heard of them either, but I like the look of the Duke Ltd edition they produced back in 2012:

Looks like the Grand MM used to be known as the 'MyClapton' and cost £4K new. Company gone bust? Doesn't seem to be any info more recently than 2013'ish? The website includes a Hong Kong address as well as a UK one, were they Chinese made with some fake British branding?

You'll probably find they aren't MAD speakers and you'll be lucky if they have anything in the boxes at all.
Just think for a second, why would anyone sell speakers at 1/3 retail and why would they do it from RR?
Exactly, people don’t sell quality products that are any good for a 1/3 of retail, unless there’s a reason, and that reason is usually they’re junk.Just think for a second, why would anyone sell speakers at 1/3 retail and why would they do it from RR?
Yes, they are very good speakers, yes, they are made in the UK and, no, they're not some dodgy scam company. To be honest, they were a bit of a vanity project by a chap with a very rich dad back in Hong Kong who, fortunately, happened to know his stuff.
I'm not sure of the current company status but I wouldn't hesitate - I've not heard a bad MAD, personally.

Little bit of google search does throw up positive comments
I am going to accept a demo . He doesn’t come to london for some time . But has promised to keep a pair for me .
I currently use some Proac Tablets which I have had for years and always loved . Mine are I think series 5’s . And I am looking for the sort of vocals these offered
Until someone took a tweeter unit out with their fingers ??????????.

There are lots of people that design speakers, get them built, reviewed and they can sound great but making money from a company that produces them is tough. If you can get a home demo , they sound great and have suffient WAF (wife apprival factor) then buy a pair. Even some of the best speakers have a huge depreciation curve so I'm not surprised at the 1/3rd list selling price.
I wonder what the cost to him would be ? I gather he actually subcontracts the construction out . So no real overheads . Then he has a profit when selling . And the dealer gets their money . Now I doubt a dealer makes £50 a pair !
But I could not find a single stockist . All roads lead back to him .
I just hope my stands work well . The ones he has in his pics are beyond my reach financially !
