For years I had a stty CRT that I kept saying I would replace with a new massive flat screen when it broke. It never did. Eventually I gave in and bought one anyway. A week later my daughter, about 3 at the time, polished the screen with an Emery board.

If you put 'scratched tv repair' into a searh engine, there some suggestions/youtube videos.

Maybe worth looking through them, if no accident insurance.

That’s a bit of a poo!

As said it might be worth having a go to fix if you’ve not got accidental damage cover on your content insurance.

Which way did the scratch go, did it remove some of the screen surface or did it deposit some of the painted door frame/banister/item you scuffed it on ?

If its left the mark on the tv screen then it might polish off with a mild cutting compound.

Give it a good buff with toothpaste.

Wouldn’t polish or buff it with anything assuming the screen doesn’t have a glossy finish?

I'd have a go with a dab of polywatch unless it's an absolute gouge.

I once scratched the screen on my TV while decorating, i used a pencil eraser on the scratch and although it didnt remove it completely it made it a LOT less noticeable.
