so I finally gave in to swmbo and moved my hifi into a different part of the house, from a nice solid floor to a wooden floor.

I'm sure you can guess the rest, my suspension turntable now bounces like Tigger.

Anyone got any clues for a decent and good looking shelf I can attach to a plasterboard wall, Ive searched other threads but most point to long defunct companies or products.

thx

The Pro-Ject Wallmount-It is still available online in various guises. The Walnut version would look good on my wall. Rega also has shelves.

Or check what your local audio specialist has in stock.

Came across some pretty looking rosewood shelves that would support a tt a while back in a vintage shop.

if you're feeling handy, I've had great results from chopping up an IKEA Lack coffee table (made of honeycomb cardboard inside so acoustically invisible), bit of 90 degree angle iron, and some steel wire rope. I'm absolutely useless at DIY but it's still up and sounds wonderful. maybe I can add a picture...

As well as the ones mentioned Quadraspire make a decent shelf. I bought the bamboo version.

apparently all suggestions so far are "ugly, not having that in my living room"

Try calling in a local joiner. I needed a bookshelf / work station which is simply a bigger version of what you need. Had a choice of different veneers for the shelving and was not silly money.

You could install a plinth and then attach the shelf to it.

What TT is it out of interest?

There is a guy who makes turntable shelves, selling them on eBay. Even my wife says they look ok, and she hates hifi and hifi furniture.

It's an LP12, had it since 1981, but like Trigger's broom, it's had so many updates I think the only original part left is the platter.

Currently running an OriginLive Silver with a dv-20x and dynavector ore amp, and had an InspireHifi Vivid upgrade about 10 years ago.

Running through a Sugden Masterclass into a pair of PMC FB1 transmission line speakers.

I use a Quadraspire Q4 shelf, but it goes firmly in the 'ugly' category where the wife is concerned. However, an LP12 does like to be on the wall.

I may have a solution.

I have a couple of spare acrylic shelves I've used before, so if I can find some decent steel cables and fasteners I may be able to build my own version of the asu-100

In that case, definitely get a plinth fitted and get yourself a Target or Sound Örganisation wall shelf. Light and rigid is the way to go.
The LP12’s love these platforms and they perform beautifully on them.

It's in the loft so a plinth is out, unless I misunderstand what you mean

Good work with the shelf build; its good that you're happy with the sound too...……….however, the part in brackets is misleading I'm afraid. Composite honeycomb panels, like the card structures used by Ikea, are sound resonators; they aren't acoustically invisible. Flat speaker companies like https://uk.aminasound.com/ use this resonance to propagate sound.

Ideally. the flat shelf that the turntable sits on should be heavily damped and non resonant. There are many cost effective products which can damp turntable shelves. Rubber matting is ideal and damps in a similar way to the way a turntable mat prevents ( limits ) a turntable's metal platter ringing. Products like the following are also good. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dodo-Mat-deadening-proofi...

Thanks for all the comments.

I need to dismantle again to paint the backing board so it disappears into the wall, and add some additional cable end clamps, but so far I'm happy with the solution.

I had to move the TT to a different part of the room as the alcove was the only place where I could definitely find studs to fasten to.
