Evening all,

I've recently purchased a LG Oled55c8pla TV and would like to connect it to Freesat as well as Freeview. I've not used Freesat before so I would appreciate your advice. What cable would I need to connect the TV directly to the dish please? The wall socket has a Sat 1 and Sat 2 choice if that helps?

Thanks for advice in advance.

Probably an F Connector at either end.

Cheap as chips (as is the coax / shotgun cable you'll need) and easy to fit yourself.

That should be fine for a device with a single Freesat tuner, but will 2m be enough ? Pre-made cables never seem to stretch as far as you think they should.

The TV is Les than a metre away from the sockets, would it matter which of the wall sockets outputs I plug into e.g. Sat 1 or Sat 2?

Many thanks for your advice, most appreciated.

I bought this for my new TV with FreeSat-Thing: (5m)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N8TLQ8H/ref...

Wasn't sure which sat to use in the settings. I presume it's an old Sky dish on the roof, so set the TV to Astra 2. Are there any other sats the dish can receive? There doesn't seem to be much on Astra 2 that isn't encrypted.

My guess is they are both connected to separate outputs on the dish, therefore it shouldn't matter which one is connected to the TV.

One assumes there is a cable to the socket from the dish and said dish is pointed he right way and has a functional lnb and good connection at the dish?

Absent a sat-finder / meter, the simplest check would be connecting the cable to the TV and seeing whether there's a signal.

If not, commence fault finding from there.

Brilliant, thanks again for your advice.
