Pretty much exclusively listen to music from Spotify or my iTunes library these days. I know it's not the greatest quality, but that's the price I pay for convenience...

Currently connecting my phone or laptop to my amp (Denon DRA-700AEDAB) through a 3.5mm-to-phono lead, but it would be far easier to just stream over Bluetooth.

Is anyone doing this and able to recommend a good Bluetooth receiver? Given the source, I'm not expecting incredible sound – something passable without breaking the bank will do.

Cheers

How about a Google Chromecast audio? I use one for Spotify. Control with Spotify app on phone. Reasonable to buy and sound quality isn't too bad as it streams straight from the internet itself. Not sure if you could stream from iTunes library though.

Project Bluetooth Box E will work for you --

or for a bit more money the Yamaha WXAD-10 -

https://europe.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual...

Will give you access to loads of other functions as well.

You could always do a 'proof of concept' with one of these first https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222971643439 (£1.49!). I have one to allow bluetooth devices to connect to our village hall AV system and it works fine (we are not taking hi fidelity requirements here though!).

iTunes will always sound a bit rubbish over BT, especially noticeable if you have a decent amp and speakers

You’ll bet much better sound quality using Airplay over wifi - I can recommend Yamaha’s WXAD-10. More pricy than BT, but a great way to add life to an older Hi-Fi without Airplay built in

I don’t use Spotify, but do use Tidal and the box has both included
