In theory the recording shouldn't be any different to live as broadcast.
What's the issue? beak up, stuttering?
It's possible the HD is a little crappy in. Might be worth permanently deleting your deleted programmes (recordings/manage/ deleted) to clean it up a bit. It solved a couple of issues I was having.
