Sky and FreeSat from the same dish?

We've a 'spare' Sky cable from the dish into a bedroom, but it has never been connected to Sky box (previous owner did i assume). We have Sky on the main TV, but can i connect a FreeSat box to the other cable? I'd rather pay £50 for that than have to upgrade to Q and Multiroom.

As long as the cable in question is connected to an LNB output on the dish, there's no problem connecting the other end to a Freesat device.

It matters not what any other cables from the dish might be connected to.
