LG 55C9 or Samsung 55 Q85

Finally out tomorrow to buy either of these two different TV’s. Just cannot decide which. Both available at same price of £1399. I’m edging towards the OLED but am conscious my wife and son have a terrible habit of pausing TV and really don’t want any burn in.

We bought a 55C9 a couple of weeks ago. It has a screensaver that kicks in after a couple of minutes so screen burn shouldn't be a problem.

View them both and see which you prefer.

I would try and find a Q9FN, I prefer it to the new Q90R, not as good viewing angles but much better black levels.

OLED will be better overall, but they do get 'burn' issues.
It is not really burn, just the red pixels wear quicker, yellow and red causes the most issues, but more ticker tape from Sky News etc.

I usually get 3 years out of an oled before it is seen, but that is only on red slides, in normal viewing you can see it if it is a redish scene, but you have to go looking for it.

I have never found static logos an issue, the screen dims those.




I personally wouldn't go Q85.
